According to Digitimes Asus has announced some new low-cost products that extend the Eee PC series including the E-DT, E-TV and E-Monitor.
The Asus E-DT is a desktop PC running on an Intel Celeron CPU to be launched in April or May. The price is supposed to be as low as $199 (without monitor).
Future versions of the Asus E-DT are supposed to be based on the upcoming Intel Shelton platform with Diamondville CPUs.
The Asus E-Monitor is an all-in-one PC similar to the Apple iMac and Dell XPS One. Asus E-Monitor would have a size of 19 to 21 inches and also feature an integrated TV tuner. With a price target of $499 it would scare the hell out of Dell and Apple.
The Asus E-TV would be LCD TVs with sizes above 42 inch with integrated Linux PC functionality.
In the same report Asus says it will not roll out touch screens for the Asus Eee, because of low demand (who did they ask?)
More details on Digitimes.
There are no photos or specification details on the new Asus E-DT, E-Monitor, and E-TV available yet. Asus will apparently show the E-DT at the CeBit 2008 in Germany in early March.
