Now it is kind of official. The Sony BDP-S1 Blu-ray disc home player will not ship in June. Sony's online store SonyStyle has a targeted availability: 'On or About August 15th 2006'.
To launch a consumer product in August, when everybody is sitting on some beach, will not draw much attention. I stick to my earlier statement that Blu-ray disc players will only be available in PCs and Notebooks this summer.
The Sony Blu-ray disc movies are still supposed to be released this month.
