Sling Media, who last month released their SlingPlayer Mobile service, announced Friday that the Slingbox device will soon be available for Japanese customers.
Earlier this year, they unveiled their plans for Mac and PAL versions of Slingbox, in an effort to globalize the product. With the announcement of the Japanese version, Slingbox is well on its way to revolutionizing TVs all across the globe. The Japanese Slingbox will be available on July 8, and will be initially sold exclusively through I-O Data. The units will sell for 29,800 yen ($256), and it of course includes the Slingbox device and the corresponding PC software. That's a little more than the $200 MSRP for the US version.
