Still a rumor yesterday, today Segway already published details and photos of their new Segway i2 and cross country model x2 on their site.
The new Segway i2 personal transporter (photo) features Segway's new LeanSteer technology as well as the new InfoKey controller.
LeanSteer frame and handlebar tilt left and right in response to your body's natural inclination to lean in the direction you want to travel. I suppose this makes it to ride a Segway even easier.
The wireless InfoKey monitors battery, speed and distance as well as protect your Segway i2 from getting stolen.
The maximum speed of the Segway i2 is 12.5mph (20km/h) and the range on a single battery charge is 24 miles. You should weigh not more than 118kg to ride the i2.
The i2 is available in a choice of gloss white or durable anodized black. The price of the i2 is supposed to be $4,995. Segway offers the following i2 Packages: i2 Police, i2 Commercial Cargo and i2 Commuter.
The very cool looking Segway x2 features all-terrain tires, a robust fender design, lithium-ion batteries and specially tuned software to ride in the wild. The Segway x2's low-pressure tires cushion the ride on bumpy surfaces and minimize trail impact. Segway says you can navigate through a variety of surfaces including sand, grass, gravel, dirt and pavement with the x2.
The x2 comes in x2 Police, x2 Adventure and x2 Golf packages. The x2 is supposed to cost you $5,495.
