Have you ever wondered what happened to those different color PS3 systems that were pictured at E3 last year? It seems every promotional picture since then has just featured the black PS3, so I guess it's no surprise that Sony has reportedly announced that the only color available at launch, at least in Europe, will be black.
Sony did say, however, that the silver and white versions will be available at some point in the future. This all comes from Europe, so we don't know if these details exactly will be the same in the US. It should be noted that the black PS3 is the only one listed on the official North American PlayStation site, so we likely will not have the other colors at launch either.Nintendo also seems to have always been focused on different colors and special editions of their consoles, and we also only know right now that the white Wii will be available on that system's launch, even though a whole rainbow of Wiis has been seen in promotional pictures.
I wonder when these next-gen systems will conform to the pink console phenomenon that's going on right now.
