Pioneer says at the IFA 2006 that they are planning a hybrid drive that can play Blu-ray and HD DVD discs for 2007.

The Pioneer BDR-103 would be the one that solves the High definition format issue for you. More details about the Pioneer Blu-ray drive roadmap on Heise (German).
Samsung also said a couple month back they will work on a blu-ray/HD DVD drive.
Ricoh also already announced a lens that would make it easy to build hybrid drives.
It is great to see that there are more and more signs that the format war will not matter soon.
