Sony announces a price-cut of their current Playstation before the PS3 launch in Japan.
Starting on September 15th the PS2 SCPH-77000 CB/CW will sell for 16,000 Yen (~$137) including tax in Japan. This is about 20% less than the current price (slightly under 20,000 yen).
Sony already cut the price of the Playstation 2 in the United States back in April to $129.99.I wonder how long the PS2 will stay in the shelves after the PS3 is going to launch. I mean the PS2 still has its value, especially at this low price point.
