Information and screenshots of the Amazonunbox video service already appeared about 2 weeks ago. Now Amazon launched their digital video download service with prominently featuring on the Amazon.com home page.
The download client is Windows only, which already turns-off some people. The discussion on digg about the Amazon unbox service is full of complaints regarding the software and of course also the DRM limitations.
Pricing varies depending on the title. The offer includes full lengths DVDs like V for Vendetta and TV shows.
Early adoption has its price. You need to fight with software issues and service bugs. Amazon.com gives you a $1.99 discount with your first purchase on unbox.
