Xbox 360 Premium HD DVD Bundle Coming?

GamesIndustry.Biz scored some information from retailers in the UK about how Microsoft will sell the HD DVD drive for the Xbox 360.

The price for the stand-alone HD-DVD drive is supposed to be GBP 199 (~$371 or 293 Euro) including 2 HD-DVD movies. The Brits always have to pay more for stuff and considering the weak dollar, I guess it is save to say that the Xbox 360 HD-DVD price is going to be below $300. Which is still not really a bargain if you ask me? It should be $200. Not sure if MS can go that low.

Microsoft may also offer a Xbox 360 Premium bundled with a HD-DVD for less then GBP 400 (~$746, 589 Euro) says GamesIndustry.Biz. A Xbox 360 Premium sells for GBP 274.99 right now on Amazon UK. So there seems to be some saving in this Xbox 360 package. If you already own a Xbox 360 you can only comfort yourself that you get 2 HD-DVD movies.
With the Xbox 360 HD DVD bundle Microsoft is of course torpedoing the Sony PS3 which has the Blu-ray drive integrated. On the other hand, MS has no competition from Sony in Europe this Holiday season.
