TiVo released a press-release announcing their new HD digital media recorder Series3.
The new TiVo Series3 is the world's first THX Certified DVR. Dual tuners allow you to record two different shows in HD at the same time, while watching a third pre-recorded show. The new OLED display always keeps you up to date what your beloved TiVo is doing right now.
The TiVo Series3 HD box enables you to record up to 32 hours of HD programming, or up to 300 hours of recording capacity in standard definition.
Other features include Ethernet port, USB, 2 CableCARD decoder, backlit, programmable TiVo remote and 1080i output over component or HDMI.
The new TiVo Series3 HD box will soon be available for $799.99 at major retailers. The new HD era does not come cheap. Here is already a hands-on review of the Series3.
Amazon.com started to list the TiVo Series3, but ordering is not available yet. TiVo is selling the Series3 direct already on their site. See also the TiVo press-release.
If you own a TiVo life-time subscription you can transfer it for a fee.
