Runco Signature Cinema SC-1 Projector, Cost More Than a House

While perusing the latest issue of Home Theater Magazine, I came across a projector that made me drool. The projector in question is the Runco Signature Cinema SC-1. What's so special about the projector, other than the reported $250,000 price tag? The list of specifications reads like a home theater lovers wet dream:

  • DLP 3-chip SuperOnyx DMD
  • 2048 x 1080 native resolution
  • Included DHD video processor
  • PAL or NTSC standards
  • 6887 ANSI Lumens with 2k lamp
  • 331 foot-lamberts with 2k lamp
  • 8000-25000 lumens variable with lamp type
  • Contrast ratio is 243:1 - 485:1 with 2k lamp
The spec list goes on and on, check out the link above to the Runco site for the full spec list. If you have enough money to buy this projector, that costs more than many nice homes, be sure you have room in your theater for the beast. It measures in at a whopping 25 3/4" x 57 1/4" x 17 1/6" (W x D x H) and weighs a portly 342 pounds. And if you have both the room and the money for this projector, be sure you invite us to your Super Bowl party.
