Our portable video player blog PVP4U reports about a new digital media player from Disney dubbed Mix Max, the company introduced yesterday.
The Disney Mix Max player features a 2.2" color LCD display and 512 MB of internal memory. The memory can be expanded to 2GB with SD cards. The new Disney PMP supports WMV video, MP3 and WMA (DRM 10) audio and jpeg photos.
Disney will sell Disney Max Clips memory cards featuring shows like High School Musical, Cheetah Girls or Lizzie McGuire for $19.99.
The Disney Mix Max player will go on sale in October for under $100. The target consumers for this player are of course kids. Do not get caught in the office with this Mickey Mouse PMP.
More details on PVP4U.
Disney had quite some success apparently with their Mix Stick audio player, which the Mouse company introduced a year ago. Selling videos on memory cards is not a new idea. ZVUE is doing this since a long time now (2003).
