Today I am looking at the Gorillamobile for iPod touch. The device is a cool articulating tripod that can hold your iPod touch and other devices in numerous positions. The Gorillamobile for iPod touch is perfect for those who watch lots of video on their iPod. Read on for all of the details on the Gorillamobile for iPod touch.
Specifications
The Gorillamobile for iPod touch is designed to work with second-generation iPod touch devices. It also includes three other adapters that let it work with other devices. The device measures 5.9" x 1.2" x 1.2" and weighs 1.6 ounces.
In Use
The Gorillamobile for iPod touch is a very cool little device. It has three articulating legs just like those found on the Gorillatorch that I reviewed before. The articulating legs allow you to use the Gorillamobile for iPod touch as a tripod with the iPod touch in portrait or landscape mode on your desk. The legs can also be wrapped around different surfaces to hold the iPod touch while you walk or exercise.
The Gorillamobile for iPod touch ships with four adapters that are designed to work with different devices. The iPod touch gets its own ridged case with an adapter built onto the back to hold it to the tripod. An adapter with a screw attachment for small digital cameras is included along with a pair of adapters that have a strong adhesive back to connect to other devices.
You can use one of these adhesive attachments for your iPhone or other smartphone if you want. Like the original Gorillamobile and the one specifically for the iPhone 3G and 3GS, the Gorillamobile for iPod touch sells for $39.95.
The tripod legs are very easy to adjust and the range of motion is very impressive. You can wrap the legs around the bar on a bike to use GPS or listen to music. My wife liked to wrap the legs of the tripod around the treadmill so she could listen to music without having to hold the iPod touch.
The case that ships with the Gorillamobile for iPod touch also protects the iPod when you are not using it with the tripod. The case is easy to install and remove and the different adapters are removable from the tripod by pressing a latch mechanism when you remove it. The only bad thing about the adhesive backed clips is that if the adhesive lets go, your device could be damaged if it hits a hard surface.
Pros
Cons
Verdict
The Gorillamobile for iPod touch is a cool device that makes it much easier to watch video with your iPod touch and has a myriad of uses with other devices too.
