Apple joins Bono's Global Fund to Fight AIDS in Africa with the special edition iPod nano (PRODUCT) RED.
Why Apple was not the first consumer electronics company doing this is a bit surprising considering the good relationship with U2 (U2 iPod).
Motorola offered a SLVR (PRODUCT) RED already in May. I hope more consumer electronics companies are joining red, it's a good idea.
Update:
Sprint and Motorola announce a RED RAZR Today.$10 from the $199 purchase price of the 4GB red iPod nano go to the Global Fund.
More details on Apple. See also the Global Fund site.
