I just got the Panasonic TH-50PV60E 50 inch Plasma TV. The shear size of the box alone gave me goose bumps. Unboxing this beautiful TV and the adrenaline flowing through my veins mounting this heavy gadget on the wall without damaging it was a cool experience.
The Panasonic TH-50PV60E is the European version of the TH-50PX60U that is shipping in the United States. This 50 inch HD-Ready TV just rules in terms of image quality for an affordable price. I paid here in Germany 2445 Euro (~$3,118) for the TH-50PV60E. Currently the TH-50PX60U sells for $2,279.99 on Amazon.com in the U.S. (You lucky Americans).
I will publish a complete review in the next two weeks. For now I can say the Panasonic TH-50PV60E is awesome. Only headache I have right now is that the new Philips SRU9600 universal remote does not know the TH-50PV60E and I have to train each button individually.
See several photos of the unboxing and wall mounting of the TH-50PV60E. More hi-res photos can be found in our photo gallery.
The Wall mount I use here is the Vogel's VFW 065. This one is ideal for a dry wall as it spreads the mounting holes very wide across the length of the TV. I am using the Yamaha YSP-1000 for the sound, as the 20W of the TH-50PV60E are just ok for watching normal TV programming.
