A Single NVIDIA 8800 GTX Kicks X1950 XTX CrossFire in the Cajhones

Supposedly one single NVIDIA 8800 GTX is faster than a pair of ATI X1950 XTX’s in CrossFire mode so sayuth The Inq. Sure you have to take things you read at The Inq with a grain of salt.

That said the sometimes accurate guys at The Inquirer are claiming that in Battlefield 2142 one single 8800 GTX can muster minimum frame rates of 100 fps at 1600x1200 with all effects on.Claims state that the single 8800 GTX is at least a few frames faster at every resolution with and without AA and AF turned on than ATI's top X1950 XTX CrossFire set up. If these numbers are correct, ATI is about to get owned and only die hard ATI fan boys will be shopping for the X1950 XTX. It's got to be embarrassing when two of your best products can't beat one of the competition's cards.
