It is now Friday 10th of November 1am in the morning in Japan. The Sony PS3 will be in stores in bit more than 24 hours. There is apparently nobody camping out in front an electronics store - rather unusual.
IGN published today an investigative report on the Sony PS3 situation in Japan. They did not find any lines for the Sony PS3 yet. Reasons for this might be that the supply per store is just ridiculously low. We talk 5 on average. (Kotaku has some details on that). Some stores will do a lottery. They hand out tickets starting Saturday morning.
The fun part in the IGN report is that they found two lines. One was for the Nintendo DS Lite and one was to pre-order the Nintendo Wii.
Update 10/10/06:
It is 1 am on Saturday the 11th in Japan and lines have formed now. see video on Gizmodo.
As reported there are now only 80,000 PS3 units for Japan. More Sony PS3 News.
