Hover Mouse is a Fake

I ran across this cool looking hover mouse at both Slashgear and Ubergizmo. It seems that even though we technology journalists are geeky online types not many actually click the links on the products we check out.

Over at CrazyPC they have some very realistic shots of a mouse that hovers a few centimeters above the mouse pad and claimed electromagnet hovering tech. Sounds really cool and I was all ready to beat down the CrazyPC doors for a sample when I clicked and was greeted by an April Fools screen. The ironic part is that it is November; I guess it is a long running joke at Crazy PC. Nonetheless, it appears the other posters around the web are convinced the hover mouse is real. Alas is nothing but Photoshop trickery. See for yourself here. Story and photo via Slashgear.
