The scary part is that I can’t hold my camera still enough at 12x zoom to get a decent picture, so if you plan on using the zoom you better have a tripod with you. The camera also sports a 2.7” LCD and uses MiniDV tapes to record the video. Still shots can be made, but your camera phone will do a better job of shooting stills. JVC only gave the mega zoon camcorder a .34 megapixel still shot ability; they should have just left that off. Then who really takes still shots with their camcorder anyway? Still the price isn’t that bad at $450 for something with this much zoom, even if the other specs are plebian. Story and image via SCI FI Tech.
