Laser HMD Research by Apple

The future of HMDs (Head mounted Displays) possibly lies with Apple. Apple filed a patent for an interesting Laser-based HMD.

The Apple HMD would have the image processing in a unit that you wear on a belt to make the glasses as light as possible. The image would transmit to the glasses via fiber optics.
The glasses would need optic elements to display the transmitted images. The result could be HMD glasses that look like normal eye wear. Current video glasses for the iPod still are not very fashionable like the Zeiss Cinemizer.
