PhotographyBlog attended the Focus on Imaging 2007 show and encountered this nice 26 inch monitor from NEC.
The NEC 2690WXi features 800:1 contrast ratio, 7ms response time, 400 cd/m2 brightness, 178 FOV, DVI and VGA.
The NEC 2269WXi already sells in the UK for around £900 incl. VAT (~$1,770).
