Gaming blog Kotaku broke a rumor yesterday about Sony launching something called Playstation Home. They took a lot of heat (and lots of traffic as a positive) for it from Sony. It is all good now again between Sony and Kotaku, but of course so much attention helps make the rumor about Playstation Home much more believable.
So what is Sony Playstation Home supposed to be?
Something similar to Nintendo's Mii avatar concept. You are supposed to be able to design your avatar that lives in virtual rooms that get filled with items based on your achievements in different games. Of course you would be able to meet other gamers with your avatars and maybe even meet them in your rooms (mySpace in 3D). We will apparently learn all about Playstation Home at the GDC 2007 next week.

Now the GDC 2007 game developer conference all of a sudden got a lot more exciting to look forward too. Our trade-show reporter Jack Olmsted will be actually at the show and will bring you video coverage from the conference, which starts Monday.
