ViaCom sues Google's Youtube for more than $1 billion in damages for copyright infringement.
Viacom, who owns MTV, Nickelodeon and Comedy Central, says that there are about 160,000 unauthorized clips on YouTube. Ah, all these Daily Show episodes...
There have been actually settlement talks, but ViaCom calls them unproductive.
$1 billion even might get Google move a bit faster in converting Youtube in a system that does not violate copyrights, but will Youtube then still be successful?
