In my inbox today was an email from Apple that the Apple TV has been shipped. Arrival time March 23rd.
As reported Apple had to delay the Apple TV end of February to a mid-March time frame.
So there is nothing holding us back to organize the Apple TV gadget model shoot. Expect the photos soon.
The Apple TV box has what it takes to be a real success for Apple. Analysts already are predicting huge adoption for the Apple TV box.
Amazon.com has still no shipping date for the Apple TV. They also just sell it for the standard price of $299, so you can also directly order the media streamer from Apple.
The 197x197x28 mm box features Wi-fi and a 40GB HDD to stream audio and video from a Mac or PC to your TV.
Supported interfaces of Apple TV are: HDMI, Component video, TOSLINK optical audio, Analog RCA stereo audio, 10/100 BASE-T Ethernet, USB 2.0 (for service and diagnostics), 802.11n wireless networking (compatible with 802.11a/b/g), Built-in IR receiver (works with included Apple Remote).
The Video formats supported are: H.264 and protected H.264 (from iTunes Store): 640 by 480, 30 fps, LC version of Baseline Profile; 320 by 240, 30 fps, Baseline profile up to Level 1.3; 1280 by 720, 24 fps, Progressive Main Profile. MPEG-4: 640 by 480, 30 fps, Simple Profile.
