An ad in the UK for the Xbox 360 has been pulled because the agency in charge of overseeing commercials said it was dangerous because it promoted hazardous driving.
Even though there was a disclaimer, the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) in England said "the text reinforced the sense that the events in the ad were real, rather than fantasy, and were therefore capable of being copied". The ad featured street racing with a handful of cool moves. It will never again be seen on UK television.
Sounds like a bit of overkill, doesn't it? If we should ban every commercial that promoted dumb ideas, why are there still ads for Burger King?
