Pioneer introduces the PDP-A507HX and PDP-A427HX Plasma HDTV models in Japan.
The 50 inch Pioneer PDP-A507HX and the 42 inch PDP-A427HX feature a new surface that reduces glare. The improved P.U.R.E. Black Panel provides improved colors and brightness.
The new Pioneer Plasmas are supposed to be more energy efficient and the most lightweight Plasma in their corresponding size category.
The 50 inch PDP-A507HX weighs 37.4kg. To give you a reference the Panasonic TH-50PX60U weighs about 40kg.
The new Pioneer TVs feature USB, LAN, 2 HDMI, i.Link and more interfaces. The USB port can be used to view photos from connected cameras directly on the TV.
The MSRP of the PDP-A507HX is 560,000 Yen (~$4,715) and the MSRP of the PDP-A427HX is 450,000 Yen (~$3,789).
