A new UK report shows that Britain's broadband may be in trouble if changes aren't made within the next two years. The Broadband Stakeholder Group (BSG) says telecom firms need to build more, faster networks to accommodate the projected boom in broadband access.
BSG says that otherwise, the country could "suffer profound social and economic setbacks." Furthermore, says the group, "taking no action could also mean that digital divisions across the UK become entrenched."It's a bit like the Kyoto Protocol greenhouse gas emission initiative, though, with people on both sides of the fence on the severity. Some critics say any significant problems will not outpace ordinary advancements in technology.
