Korean Raon announces a new UMPC in Korea - Raon Everun.
Raon made their entry into the UMPC market with the Raon Vega. The new Everun has some interesting design aspects like the thumb keyboard on one side of the device.
You have to hold the Everun upright to use the keyboard. The screen flips automatically when holding it that way. I am not sure if this is that keyboard is any help I would prefer a smaller form factor and use the touch screen with a virtual keyboard or handwriting recognition.
Features of the Raon Everun include 4.8 inch touch screen with 800x480px resolution, 600MHz AMD Geode LX 900 CPU, 512MB RAM, Wi-Fi, mini-PCI slot for HSDPA cards and a 7-12 hour battery life.
There will be several Raon Everun models that differ in the HDD selection. You can also get one with a 6GB SSD (Solid State Disc). Other options are 60GB and 30GB drives.
The measurements of the Raon Everun are 170x83x25mm and the weight is under 500g depending on the configuration. For some reason the Everun is not coming with Vista, it runs Windows XP Home.
Depending on the model (Everun STD SH6, H6, Everun Lite H3, S6) prices will range between $600-$900.
The most exciting Raon Everun is the SH6 it comes with a 60GB HDD + 6GB SSD Hybrid hard-drive combination.
Dynamism will hook you up with imports as soon as the Raon Everun is shipping. AVing has some shots from the press-event in Korea where Raon introduced the Everun. See also the product page of the Everun on the Raon site.
