Japanese low priced electronics maker Funai will offer a 42 inch full HD LCD TV this holiday season.
This is actually a move to enter the upscale audiovisual equipment market. Funai experience more and more competition from other Asian electronics manufacturers in the low price electronics market.
In fiscal 2006, Funai sold about 1.5 million LCD TVs in North America.
For Funai to succeed they need to under price the big brands like Sony and Panasonic and compete with Syntax and Westinghouse.
Funai is also going to sell Blu-ray players this year for OEM customers.
