SanDisk announced today that their hew 4GB Memory Stick Micro (M2) card is available at retail. This marks the launch of the highest capacity 4GB M2 card for use in digital cameras, hand held game players and Sony Ericsson mobile phones.
"Music, video, photos, games--these are the types of content driving the need for higher capacity cards such as the 4GB M2," said Jeff Kost, vice president and general manager of the Mobile Consumer Solutions division at SanDisk. "This trend is expected to grow as consumers embrace the mobile lifestyle and demand more storage-intensive features from a single mobile device."
The M2 format itself was co-developed by Sony and SanDisk to meet the high capacity storage needs of small, portable devices and the M2 card measures in at 0.59” long x 0.49” wide and 0.05” high. This card can also work in Memory Stick PRO Duo slotted devices, such as the PSP, with an adapter. The 4GB card from SanDisk carries a MSRP of $119.99 and will be available min-June. Via SanDisk
