Toshiba Announces new REGZA LCD HDTV Sets

Toshiba announced today the addition of their largest ever REGZA HD LCD TV and adds that they have increased their market share by 90% in 32-42” LCD HD TVs. Toshiba announced today the availability of their 46”, 47” and 52” REGZA LCD TVs and the upcoming July availability of their largest LCD TV, the 57” Cinema Series.

"The feedback on our new REGZA LCD line-up has been exceptional, and our market performance has been astounding," said Scott Ramirez, Vice President of Marketing. "We listened to the voice of our customers, made quality products that are market right, and virtually doubled our 32" to 42" LCD market share. We now start shipping our larger 46" to 57" models, including our Cinema Series models with the advanced ClearFrame 120 Hz Anti-Blur System, and are confident that we will continue the same level of success. Consumers are responding to the quality and design of REGZA, but more importantly, they are proving that Toshiba is a market leader in flat panel TV."

The REGZA line includes a variety of series from standard to 1080p full HD. All the sets in the line use Toshiba’s PixelPure3G 14-bit internal digital video processing and DynaLight dynamic backlight. The 1080p series also utilizes the ColorBurst wide color gamut CCFL, and the CE-Link HDMI CEC control. Cinema series sets us the ClearFrame 120Hz anti-blur system and Deep Color.

The 120Hz is an important addition, normal HDTV’s run at 60Hz, Toshiba has doubles that frame rate. I saw TVs using 120Hz compared to 60Hz at CES this year, the difference in picture quality was impressive. Pricing on the 57” REGZA is $5999.99. Via Toshiba
