Next week in parallel to the ispo SPORT & STYLE 2007 the first Wearable Technologies Congress will take place in Munich. The Navispace AG is also again organizing a Wearable Technology exhibition as part of the ispo trade-show.
We got details and photos of some of the highlights that will be exhibited at the Wearable Technology Show.
The European Space Agency (ESA) will show jackets that protect against extreme temperatures. The Aerogel jacket (photo) protects against temperatures as cold as -58 degrees Fahrenheit (-50 degrees Celsius). An Aerogel jacket (also called Absolute Zero) already appeared on the scene in 2003.
Another jacket is designed to protect firefighters from heatstroke when on the job.
German Beurer GmbH (site, large photo) will show a beltless heart rate monitor (see photo above). The glove with fixed pulse watch is based on Plethysmography. A sensor measures light reflected by the bloodstream in the finger artery.
Especially well suited for running training, the glove is designed to fit like a second skin.
SolarFocus Technology shows their SolarShopper bag (site, photo). This shopping bag has integrated solar panels to charge your iPod or mobile phone. The solar bag delivers 3W power and sells for 149Euro (~$200).
Entrak (site, photo) shows the ventilationVest, which keeps you cool during sports.
URBAN TOOL (site, photo 1, photo 2) shows their grooveRider line of iPod appearal at the WT show. The shirt is connected to the iPod through integrated wires and offers a special cable routing for headphones. You can start and stop your iPod, adjust the volume and choose tracks through the golden control panel.
Besides German companies Oakley will show their Thump Pro music player glasses and Jabra will also show some Bluetooth headsets.
