Samsung said in Germany at a IFA preparation event that they will ship the dual HD player BDP-UP5000 in October or November.
Samsung announced the Blu-ray and HD-DVD player BDP-UP5000 already in April.
LG got lots of attention for the first dual HD player BH100, when they announced it at the CES 2007. The only problem is still that the price of about $1,000 is way to high.
As long as you can buy a HD DVD player and a Blu-ray player together for less money a hybrid HD player is just not worth it, especially because it is the first generation of such a player. Most likely Samsung will exhibit the BDP-UP5000 at the IFA 2007, which starts on August 31st in Berlin.
