On Monday PC Manufacturers like Dell and HP will launch PC Systems with the new Intel CPU named Prescott.
The P4 follow-up contains more than twice as many transistors. The bulk of the speed advantage of Prescott will only become evident in faster versions of the chip to be released later in the year. Intel is the first to be able to mass-produce 90 nanometer chips. Some suspect there are hidden 64bit features in the new CPU. Intel denies. More in Story on Yahoo.
PC World already test drove the new 3.2Ghz PF 3.20E (Prescott). PC World says a 2-GHz Athlon 64 3200+ is still outperforming the new Intel chip.
