Pioneer KURO and KURO ELite Plasma HDTVs

Pioneer starts to ship the first 8th generation Plasma HDTVs under the KURO sub-brand in the U.S.

The 42 inch PDP-4280HD and the 50 inch PDP-5080HD are available now. The Pioneer PDP-4280HD is on sale for $2,420.24 on Amazon.com.
The Pioneer PDP-5080HD sells for $2,928.68 on Amazon.com.

The newest Pioneer panel technology features a black level reproduction that is 80% darker than the previous generation.

Both new Pioneer Plasma HDTV are 720p models and not 1080p. The 1080p KURO HDTVs are supposed to come in September in 50 and 60 inch sizes.
