Plantronics has a new device aimed at helping work at home types, or even those in a small office manage their communications. The Calisto Pro Home Phone is an integrated device that manages your landline, VOIP, and cellular phone calls with one device.
There is no old fashioned handset; rather a wireless Bluetooth headset handles duties for all three call types. To change between making calls with the three different methods you simply touch a button on the device.
The headset uses digital encrypted, voice-dedicated DECT 6.0 technology for audio quality and prevents interference from WiFi or other signals in the environment. Users can walk up to 300 feet from the case and a speaker phone is built in as well if you don’t feel like wearing the headset. The caller-id portion of the phone can be clipped on a belt for cordless Caller ID.
The Calisto Pro connects to your Pc via USB for VOIP calls and allows you to transfer up to 200 Outlook contacts into the phone with up to three numbers each. The device will be available in September for $279.95.
