Earlier we reported that Nokia would introduce new phones like the N81 today. And it just happened. During the press-event in London the product pages for the new very sexy Nokia N81 and Nokia N81 8GB went live.
The Nokia N81 runs Symbian OS 9.2 and S60 3rd edition user interface. Features of the N81 include 2.4 inch QVGA color screen, Wifi, 2MP camera with flash and 20x digital zoom, FM tuner, hot swappable microSD card slot, 17 days standby, 240 min. GSM talktime, 4.5 hours video playback time and 11.5 hours music playback time.Measurements of the Nokia N81 are 102x50x17.9 mm and the weight is 140g.
The difference to the Nokia N81 and the Nokia N81 8GB is the internal flash memory.
I see still a huge problem for Nokia in that they are just not able to reduce the thickness of their handsets. Even the thickness of their sliders has to go down. The thinnest slider measures only 9.9mm and is from Pantech. The new N81 is almost twice as thick.
