Honda announced today they have their new ASIMO robot that can run 4MPH in a permanent installation on a Disneyland stage. Naturally the host of the robot show is the Honda ASIMO theater inside the Innoventions attraction.
The show is called the “Say ‘Hello’ to Honda’s ASIMO” show and shows off ASIMO’s latest technological improvements including several new mobility and AI capabilities that enhance human interaction.
The show is said to offer visitors a glimpse into the not-to-distant future where robots like ASIMO help humans in the home by using the technologic capabilities of ASIMO like climbing stairs, walking forward and backwards and running as well as taking directions from a human. I wonder if ASIMO can combine these things so when I yell ASIMO, get me a Coke, he can run his plastic arse to the kitchen.
