Microsoft announces Windows Vista SP1

Microsoft announces the highly anticipated SP1 for Windows Vista.

The first service pack for Windows Vista will contain changes focused on addressing specific reliability and performance issues we’ve identified via customer feedback, supporting new types of hardware, and adding support for several emerging standards. SP1 also makes additional improvements to the IT administration experience. Microsoft will release in the next couple of weeks a beta version of Vista SP1. The final version of SP1 is still a long time away. The Vista team targets Q1 2008.
