Sony introduces the Home HD LF-W1HD high definition video wireless transmitter.
With the Sony LF-W1HD you can transmit Blu-ray movie or HD Tuner video signal wirelessly in your home.
The Sony HD wireless solution consists of two units and remote control. the receiver has a HDMI port to connect to a display. For some reason the transmitter has no HDMI port to connect to a HD source, just composite. Both units are powered by 12V DC power adaptors.
The Sony LF-W1HD uses MPEG-4 AVC encoding and apparently uses both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands to transmit the data. Sony does not disclose the maximum distance the LF-W1HD can transmit HD video.
The Sony HD wireless transmitter solution will sell for 50,000 yen (~$430) starting on December 12th in Japan.
