Dell announced today their most recent notebook computer for mobile professionals that need to be able to run resource intensive applications on the road. The Dell Precision M6300 is aimed directly at mobile engineers, artists, developers and other pros needing desktop performance in a notebook package.
The notebook uses 64-bit Core 2 duo and Extreme edition processors up to X7900 at 2.8GHz. Graphics are via NVIDIA Quadro FX1600M OpenGL and the machine uses dual-channel memory with 36-bit addressing allowing use of all 4GB on a 64-bit OS.
The screen is a 17” LCD available in both WXGA+ and WUXGA anti-glare and an optional TrueLife display is available. Wireless connectivity is 802.11n and the notebook can be ordered with Vista or XP Pro. Prices start at $1899 for a base level machine.
