Sprint announced today that its AIRAVE base station is now available in select areas of Denver and Indianapolis. The AIRAVE is the first commercially available femtocell base station allowing any Sprint cellular phone and broadband web access to provide enhanced in home coverage.
Once installed the AIRAVE device allows Sprint user’s unlimited calls inbound or outbound without using minutes from their plan. All current Sprint phones are compatible with the AIRAVE device.
AIRAVE service is priced at $30 per month for families and $15 per month for an individual. The AIRAVE sells for $49.99 and will be available in all of Denver and Indy later this year and Sprint says it will roll the service out nationwide in 2008.
