In early September a rumor came up that Sony will introduce a 40GB Sony PS3 for the holiday season.
Yesterday newsweeks N'Gai Croal posted that he was information that Sony ordered a bunch of 40GB HDDs and he expects a $399 priced 40GB Sony PS3 as early as Thanksgiving.Additionally the Sony territory business units are supposedly now free to set the price for the Sony PS3.
Sony said that the 60GB Sony PS3 is not going to see new inventory. It is still in stock on Amazon.com. The 80GB Sony PS3 will be the new high-end package. What is missing is a new competitive priced entry model.
