The Sony Playstation Eye camera has been available for pre-order on Amazon.com for a couple of weeks now for $39.99.
The shipping date given is the 31st of October. In a post on the Playstation blog Sony says that the Playstation Eye for the Sony PS3 will be shipping on October 23rd.
The PlayStation Eye supports video capture with 640 x 480px resolution at 60 frames per second and 320 x 240px at 120fps. The built-in 4-microphone array and the integrated noise filter are supposed to provide a natural voice quality for online games and chat.

The Playstation Eye will also ship bundled in the Eye of Judgement game available for pre-order on Amazon.com for $69.99.
