2K Games recently released a Bioshock Revoke tool that allows you to revoke the activation of the game on your computer prior to upgrading or buying a new computer. This allows you to change the activation from one computer to another and doesn’t use your activations up.
This is a nice addition considering I found last week that Bioshock forced me to reactivate the game after simply changing a video card on my computer. The Revoke tool is for retail box copy owners only. Steam copies already revoke a game license when the game is uninstalled on a computer.
2K says that currently the revoke tool will only allow you to revoke activations once per computer. That means if you have the game installed under multiple user accounts, you can only revoke on install. 2K says they are working on this. I for one hope that 2K learns that this sort of activation policy causes more headaches for them and buyers and opts to not use this sort of process on future games.
