iRiver iFP-900 series MP3 Player go on Sale

iRiver made a press annoucement about the availability of the iRiver iFP-990, iFP-995 and iFP-999 in the UK today.

The iRiver iFP-900 line measures 64 x 51 x 20 mm and features a 1.2" color screen. The battery life is a cool 40 hours. The iRiver MP3 player supports OGG, MP3 and WMA audio playback. The color screen can be used to view jpeg and bmp photos.

The iFP-900's features include a built-in microphone for digital voice recording, a real-time clock with a music or radio alarm function, and a combined analog and optical (digital) line-in to record external audio signals. We reported recently about the new MPIO FG-100 which also featured an optical connector. Seems to be the new must have feature for high-end MP3 Players.

iriver iFP-900 models with three different memory configurations will be immediately available with recommended retail prices of £169 (EUR 249) for the 256 MB model, £224 (EUR 329) for the 512 MB model, and £270 (EUR 399) for the top-of-the-range 1 GB model. No info yet when the iRiver IFP-900 series will be available in the US.
