X-Men Origins: Wolverine Gets Release Date

Fans of the film franchise X-Men will be glad to hear that the spin-off Wolverine film titled X-Men Origins: Wolverine has been given the green light and a release date of May 1, 2009. Hugh Jackman will reprise his role of Wolverine and the director is Gavin Hood.

The film is set to begin shooting later this year. Live Schreiber is reported to be in final talks to play the younger William Stryker.

The film will explore the violent past of Wolverine and his relationship to Victor Creed and the Weapon X program. Mutants from the first three films and other yet unseen mutants are rumored to make appearances in the film.
