The Asus Eee PC 4G is finally available in the United States. Major computer and electronics retailer NewEgg has just started selling the first Asus Eee PC. Update: J & R also sells now the Asus Eee PC 4G. The Asus Eee PC is sold out right now on NewEgg and inventory is back on the 3rd.
The Asus Eee PC 4G sells for $399.99 on NewEgg plus shipping.
The Asus Eee 4G features 512MB DDR2 RAM, 4GB SSD, Battery Life of 3.5 hours, and an integrated camera. The 4G is the 2nd most powerful announced Asus Eee PC only topped by the Asus Eee PC 8G with 1GB RAM and 8GB SSD.
Asus confirmed also that Eee PCs with pre-installed Windows XP are still coming to the market in 2007. If and when Asus is going to offer the low-end Asus Eee PC configuration 2G Surf is not known yet. That version of the Eee PC might hit the $299 price point. Still $100 above what was originally promised by Asus.
