Nokia introduces the Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte and Nokia 8800 Arte luxury 3G phones.
The Nokia 8800 slider has a seamless metal and glass body styling and some haptic interface tricks. Turning the phone screen-side down silences an incoming call. Tapping the steel surface under the screen makes an analog clock appear on the screen.
The Nokia 8800 Arte and Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte come with exclusive videotrack and soundtrack composed by Kruder & Dorfmeister (my favorite Drum and Bass Artists from Austria) with visuals by Fritz Fitzke.
Other features of the Nokia 880 Arte and Sapphire Arte include 2 inch OLED screen with QVGA screen, 3.2MP camera, 1GB integrated memory, MicroUSB all-in-one connector, and anti-fingerprint coating.
The Nokia 8800 Arte will start shipping in the fourth quarter of 2007 with an estimated retail price of 1000 EUR (~$1,458) before taxes and subsidies. The Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte will follow in the first quarter of 2008 and retail for approximately 1150 EUR (~$1,626)before taxes and subsidies.
