Copies of the Rock Band game have been flying off store shelves and the game is one of the hottest titles for the holiday season. Some early buyers of the Rock Band bundle with the guitar, mic and drum controllers are reporting problems with the strum bar on the guitar.
EA has acknowledged that some of the first guitars shipped with the game had an issue with the strum bar. While subsequent guitar production lines were repaired, some defective units are still in play.
EA has set up a link for users with affected guitars to be able to get a free replacement controller. If you have an affected controller, you can get it replaced free from the EA website.
